”Back in 2010 I made a public art work in Time Lane in Ballarat called incidents in time. For the brief they wanted a work that referenced this sites history as a watch maker's shop. It got me thinking about how I map time, and for me it is not by instruments that measure time but rather memory and moment. Reflecting on this I made a bunch of small sculptures depicting moments in time that are strange and absurd (You can see the works on my website) which are inserted into and around the architecture.

I was asked to make a larger work for the site as an extension to the original concept, so I re-visited my sketchbook from 2010 and found this idea that was never realised. I hope it will bring a smile and moment of joy to the occasional passer by.”
